After paying a visit to Satchmo in the infirmary and gathering up the ever exuberant ninja/bard/prince/animal trainer Frederick Gerard, the agents of Team Alpha set out on their latest mission to the establishment known as Hooke and Talon.
The detective agency had come to the attention of the Organization as a potential lead in the disappearance of the mother of Sandie Tavros. Exercising caution, Team Alpha was instructed to plant a surveillance device as a preliminary to establishing official contact with Philosopher Hooke.
Upon reaching the establishment the agents were greeted by Charls the Webmaster, with whom they exchanged some helpful tips for dealing with his formidable admirer. Once inside the agents were able to successfully plant the surveillance device without alerting Philosopher Hooke, so they took the afternoon off to play skee-ball.
On their return to Dead End, Team Alpha received an urgent message from Mesmeralda. In an attempt to coerce Shadow into revealing the agent’s identities, two men had been sent to the Destiny Falls Orphanage to kidnap one of the orphans under Shadow’s care. This masterful plan unfortunately did not account for the children having a gigantic murderous rope monster as a guardian.
The agents grilled the terrified prisoner who revealed how to find the Mr B that had sent him. Following his instructions Team Alpha found a parked Sky Leopard, a flying construct that was equipped with a homing beacon to the enemy’s base. After achieving aerial superiority over the Doves of War (with some help from Jolly Roger) the agents arrived at the headquarters of Mr B.
There the agents learned that the orphan-snatchers had been sent by Bloon, who was searching for them on behalf of a second Mr B. Upon looting Bloon’s office, Splash discovered that no well was deep enough to contain Devil General Bartholomew, who had returned from his watery grave as an undead Necromancer bent on bloody vengeance!
